Step 1: Understand Why IPTV EPG Shows the Wrong Time

EPG data for IPTV is typically served in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) or in the timezone of the server — which may be different from your local time. The player app is responsible for converting those times to your local timezone. When this conversion is missing, off, or misconfigured, you see programme listings that are shifted by a fixed number of hours.

For Nordic viewers, the offset is usually one of these:

  • CET (Central European Time): UTC+1 in winter, UTC+2 in summer (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland — same zone)
  • GMT (Iceland): UTC+0 year-round (Iceland does not observe DST)

If your EPG is behind by one or two hours, or ahead by the same amount, a timezone or time-offset setting in the app is almost certainly the cause.

Step 2: Fix the EPG Time Offset in IBO Player / IBO Pro Player

IBO Player and IBO Pro Player (the apps we recommend for IPTV Pay subscribers) include a built-in EPG time offset control.

  1. Open IBO Player or IBO Pro Player on your device.
  2. Navigate to Settings → EPG Settings (the exact label may vary slightly between versions).
  3. Find the Time Offset or EPG Time Shift option.
  4. Set it to your local UTC offset:
    • Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland in winter: +1
    • Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland in summer (BST/CEST): +2
    • Iceland (year-round): 0
  5. Save and force a full EPG refresh from the same menu.

After the EPG reloads, programme times should align with your local clock.

Quick check: If the EPG is exactly 1 hour behind in summer but correct in winter, your offset is set to +1 and needs to be changed to +2 during the summer months. Some apps do not automatically adjust for DST.

Step 3: Fix EPG Time on Samsung Smart TV (IBO Player Pro)

  1. Open IBO Player Pro on your Samsung TV.
  2. Go to Settings → EPG.
  3. Look for a Time Zone or Time Offset field.
  4. Enter your UTC offset (e.g. +1 or +2).
  5. Tap Update EPG to force a fresh download with the new offset applied.

If no explicit offset field exists, check whether the app is using your Samsung TV's system time. Go to your Samsung Settings → General → System Manager → Time → Clock and ensure it is set to your correct local time with the right timezone selected.

Step 4: Fix EPG Time on Amazon Firestick

  1. First, check your Firestick system time: Settings → Device → About → Time Zone. Make sure it is set to your correct timezone (e.g., Europe/Oslo).
  2. Open your IPTV player app (IBO Player or IBO Pro Player).
  3. Go to the app's EPG settings and set the time offset to match your local UTC offset.
  4. Exit the app completely (hold Back button until prompted to exit), then reopen it.
  5. Let the EPG reload from scratch — this sometimes takes 1–2 minutes.

Note: If your Firestick timezone is wrong (e.g. set to US/Eastern from factory), IPTV app time offset corrections will not be accurate until the device timezone is corrected first.

Step 5: Fix EPG Time on Android TV Box

  1. Check device time: Settings → Date & Time → Automatic Time Zone — enable this if it is off.
  2. If Automatic is already on but the time is still wrong, set timezone manually to Europe/Oslo (or your local timezone).
  3. Open IBO Player Pro and navigate to Settings → EPG → Time Offset.
  4. Set the offset to +1 or +2 as appropriate.
  5. Trigger an EPG update and verify a few programme times against a known schedule.

Step 6: Fix EPG Time on iPhone / iPad (IBO Player)

iOS apps typically inherit the timezone from the device's iOS settings, which is usually set correctly. If your iPhone EPG times are wrong:

  1. Check iOS time: Settings → General → Date & Time → Set Automatically — make sure this is enabled.
  2. If automatic time is correct but EPG still shows wrong times, open IBO Player settings and look for an EPG offset option.
  3. Set the offset to match your local time difference from UTC.
  4. Close the app fully (swipe up from app switcher) and reopen it to force an EPG refresh.

Step 7: EPG Still Wrong After Offset Fix — What Else to Try

If you have set the offset correctly but the guide is still showing wrong times, try these additional steps:

  • Delete the EPG cache: In the app settings, find a "Clear EPG Cache" or "Reset EPG" option. The cached data may have been saved with the old offset applied.
  • Reinstall the app: A fresh install clears all cached EPG data and starts the offset calculation from scratch.
  • Contact support: If the offset is configured correctly and times are still wrong, it may be an issue with the EPG source itself — contact us via WhatsApp and we can investigate.

Step 8: Preventing EPG Time Issues in Future

Once you have found the correct offset setting, write it down or screenshot it. When you reinstall the app (after a device reset, for example) you will know the exact setting to re-enter without troubleshooting from scratch. Also note whether you need to adjust by +1 during winter and +2 during summer — set a reminder in October and March (when European clocks change) to update the EPG offset if your app does not do it automatically.
